Thought it was going to go Solway Firth Spaceman for a second at the start of the video, but if chasing a mainstream audience they clearly didn't!

Standard.
Imagine going all the way there, taking equipment, nice suits, flights (do they go Economy?) to stand around with your hands in your pockets. I just don't get it.

Well the Solway Firth Spaceman was a photo taken of a young girl that when developed showed what looked like a Spaceman rising up behind her. This photo was eventually claimed to be her Mother standing behind her of course.?
But a simple "Woman takes photos. Manics appear in them when they weren't there" could have been an interesting angle. Don Broco are the only UK band at the moment who make good videos. But sadly they use comedy which as you know is garlic to a Vampire in Manicsland! Maybe Nicky is comedy phobic, but plot and tension aren't blockbuster budget concepts. Anyway, not a bad tourist video. Certainly better than "Some Kind Of Nothingness" at least. |

I've thought for years that they could do a good Foo Fighters-style funny video
Some of the funnier/more visually appealing ones: The Love of Richard Nixon, Little Baby Nothing, Tolerate (James loses his face!)

Video is minimalistic old school stuff. Not original but not bad either. In the Everlasting they were on fire, here they could've added some water fx

Memo to self: GET. EARS. CLEANED. OUT.
I heard the single on the radio and didn't recognise it until James started singing! The fun of people sounding like robots when they speak to you is still amusing though. |

Somewhat surprised more people didn't like the vid to be honest, there are some great freeze-frame moments of the band. Maybe it needed explosions, car chases and stuff.

Some nice shots of Nice, but I don't really get why the Japanese girl,is in it and why she loses the plot. Also, surely the quotes at the start and end should have been in French?

And all those buildings with their walls, the infra making closed spaces. And then the wide sea and the open.... I see some symbolism here, and maybe even some subtle political messages in an era of massive xenophobia.
