I think it's a weird choice. I understand why in the US (sharing oversea costs), but in UK/IE...I don't lnow.
Also, will the new album be released before these dates?

As far as I know there's been no announcement regarding a new album.
The Manics were selling out comparable venues a couple of years ago and Suede's tour seemed to sell out a pretty extensive tour earlier this year so you'd think each band could individually put on a set of shows like this. That said these co-headlining tours seem to be becoming more popular. Not sure if it's due to splitting costs, trying to spread fanbase, or that to have two full sets the bands only have to play 75 min rather than the 90 min or so (they're all getting on!) |

That's why I don't understand a co-headlining tour; maybe it's for spreading the fanbase, or maybe you are right and it's because of "laziness" (shorter sets).

What were the Japan gigs like - is there a danger of this being a bit "festival set/greatest hits" or are these proper gigs?

https://www.setlist.fm/stats/manic-s...?tour=4bde5fd6 I've no idea if they'll be a little more adventurous for a UK crowd. Suede by comparison did mix things up a fair bit more: https://www.setlist.fm/stats/suede-1...?tour=4bde5f26 |

And it looks like Suede are 'headliners' for Dublin, Leeds and London with the Manics on first then vice versa for the other shows.

An opportunity to play some big summer gigs together at home? Doubt it's going to have much to do with new album promo.

I'm hoping to do the Alexandra Palace one. Although last time i went there to see Suede i missed my last train home so i may need to stay over.

Edinburgh and worry all year about accommodation. Really tempted by Manchester.
Untgh.. damn it, Manchester will be my third time seeing them in Manchester! But Edinburgh, my brother moved to around that area by the time of the gigs! Counted interested. Happy Manics headlining most nights. Didn't expect this news today! Hahaha |

Think this is ambitious for both bands, these are quite big venues. Not confident these will sell out.
I would say 2024 for the Manics will start with recording sessions in the spring, then the summer tour, album launch in September followed by an October tour with more modest venues with Lifeblood Re-issue for Christmas.

Will know when the tickets go on sale. But would 10.15pm be a good finishing time?
EdIT: I could have danced all night! But if last train is about half eleven. It's months away and will be tomorrow before we know it |
