That feeling when you were going to make a thread about Latitude Festival thinking it was today. But it's 24th of JULY!

Melody Maker's Diary of a Manic Street Preachers Fan.
I... Thought it was amusing slightly. But can anyone remember what happened in the last installment?

I was planning on bumping the thread (currently on second page, about two threads down) tomorrow funnily enough.

And all through the night the land was filled with the endless reloading of the NME site.
Well goodnight, I prefer to wake up to these things.

Edit: Fucking seriously?!! Oh well, what's another few months wait for news

Apparently a shortened set due to circumstances out the Manics control (it be the KYE virus again!!) at Y Not festival.
Any further details. If I'd gone I'd have been pissed Stereophonics had uninterrupted full set!

Virtual online Manic Street Preachers gig on 1st of September? Well bollocks if I'm paying money for it!
Plus I've read up on Virtual Music scams
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.r...irtual-events/

I mean, an online gig at the start of September sounds great. If it happens.

https://facebook.com/events/s/manic-...5734029497108/

Couldn't copy and paste whole page
Big DING DING DING DING DING at "it's the only time you'll be able to see our perform live this year".

I love the smell of bullshit scammers in the afternoon!
Jury's out. It either happens or doesn't.
DON'T PAY THEM ANY MONEY!!!

Remember the TUVL and Steps chart battle?
In at number one with The Platinum Collection!
However when you look at the amount of formats it came under...
Quote:
The regular version
The 2CD Deluxe
The "Pre-party" digital deluxe with extra remixes
The "Party" digital deluxe with different extra remixes
The digital deluxe version from their own site with even more bonus tracks
The "Lisa" edition of the regular version with diff track listing and cover
The "H" edition of the regular version with diff track listing and cover
The "Faye" edition of the regular version with diff track listing and cover
The "Lee" edition of the regular version with diff track listing and cover
The "Claire" edition of the regular version with diff track listing and cover
I have become Kali, destroyer of album chart integrity and shelving.

“Finding Vivian Maier”, the 2013 documentary is streaming free on Prime Video now. The subject that inspired the RIF song Vivian, and knowing Nicky, the specific documentary he watched on telly one night that directly inspired it.

The timeframe for Nicky's album gets smaller and smaller. (But yes, new Manics album please)

The Manics will have some tracks in the new incineration of Rocksmith+ We're all bourgeois and This is the day at the moment.

https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/r...%20Preachers/1

That game launches in September 6. The 2014 versión which isn't compatible with this new one has had A Design For Life, Tolerate and Motorcycle Emptiness as dlc.

Manics Heardle is down! There are only 150 songs loaded into the app, and we're on day 153! The phrase "Stack Overflow" has now been used on the FD forum.

MSP mention in a recent interview with Jeffrey Runnings from obscure 80s Lincoln, Nebraska post-punk band For Against (https://post-punk.com/outside-a-hear...jeff-runnings/):

"2002 was an interesting time in music, right in the thick of the post-punk revival movement here in the states. As a huge music lover, were there any bands from that era that spoke to you, or were a particular inspiration for the band?

2002…I was at university and working at a record store…honestly, I wasn’t crazy about some of the post punk revival stuff from that time…I remember liking the first Interpol album, especially the opening track “Untitled”…I’d put it on ‘repeat’ and play it ten times…it was so unlike anything else Matador was releasing at the time so it was a breath of fresh air…also loved Calla and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs…but my heart was still firmly stuck in the UK scene, post-britpop, although pickings were a bit slim (but Manic Street Preachers always seemed to come through for me no matter what)."
