So true would love to be able to have a drink or two.

Hah, everyone moaning about travelling to gigs. Took me seven years of going to see em before I was able to go to my own bed the same night. I wouldn't recommend living in Hull... Surprised they even went back after the time before Postcards on Everything Must Go tour when Catatonia played and the sound system blew inbetween so they couldn't play. Nicky spent half the night shouting at the sound guys in 2010 hah.

That said, I loved the Welsh Manics gigs I've been to. Only four of em, to my shame mind. Still, all four in different places so that pleases the trainspotter in me.

Isn't Hull about 2 hours drive from Manchester? That is doable and they always play there! Also Leeds and Sheffield are not far, so you've got options when they do longer tours

I made a pact with my husband years ago that if we won the lottery we'd spend the money having the Manics play at our wedding. Stupid numbers

Now my lottery plan is for the band to play really obscure places, like in the villiage for the sheep. What a treat for the sheeps!

I’ve actually only ever seen them outside of Wales three times – XFM Winter Wonderland 2006, Leeds Festival 2008 & Brixton this year. Lots of times in Wales though!

Of all the 26 times I've been to a Manics gig (not including festivals) I've had to stay overnight somewhere for 13-14 of them including once slumming it at Manchester Piccadilly in a freezing December (FD tour) as I had missed the last train back, had not booked a hotel and this was the days before mobile internet so I couldn't even search for an affordable one with a vacancy (plus I was a student at the time so probably wouldn't have been able to afford it). I think it all adds to the experience, albeit expensive if it was in hotels and so on.

Further news/info on the castle gig coming tomorrow from Wales Online according to Twitter. Nice of them to coincide the announcement of a gig next summer with the start of their current tour
