On this point... whilst sitting in the queue for the Cardiff gig on Monday, Cat Southall walked past and was immediately accosted by fans (she was extremely lovely and seemed very touched by all the praise). She was asked whether we'd ever get 'Into The Waves Of Love' in a live setting, and (long and quite funny story short) she said they'd rehearsed it, and it wasn't her call, but fingers crossed. Later on you could actually hear them rehearsing it some more during the soundcheck.

Did they play it on Monday night? Nope. Will Cat Southall be appearing at any other dates? Probably not.

So... Yeah, not super hopeful that the album will get a comprehensive airing. I'm hoping Diapause shows up at some point though.

And on the actual topic of the thread, I clearly remember having a conversation with a friend at the 02 gig ten years ago. Around that time Suede had done a residency at some London venue or other, and had played each of their studio albums in full, one per night. We talked about how wonderful it would be if the Manics did the same, how i would happily buy every ticket for the Lifeblood gig as long as I got to see them play Lifeblood, and how we both knew full well it would never, ever happen.

Ten years later I still know full well it will never happen. I'd love it, but never in a million years. I'm still amazed they did the Bible/EMG/Truth tours, and I doubt they'll do another.

Prove me wrong though, boys. I still need that Lifeblood gig.

The only album I want to hear in full live is Lifeblood. Can't see them doing anything like that again though as all the "big" ones have been played and the longer it gets, the harder it will be for James to sing and the others to play the older material.

They've always said they find Lifeblood songs difficult to play so I doubt they'll do the whole album but would be brilliant if they did

THB20 felt like the band putting the album to bed. Have they played anything from it since? Aside from James doing IfWhiteAmerica... solo at the Newbridge gig, I haven't seen them do it.

I think even the band themselves said at the time that tour was the last opportunity they'd have to play that album, and pull it off properly. They just can't easily put themselves in that mindset now.

I certainly can't see THB30 happening. EMG30 maybe?

My favourite gig too. It's a crying shame there's no video of it.

Sean REALLY hates Empty Souls. The drum line in verses is just dull as dishwater.

The boringness of the drums really make that song, and I'm not taking the piss

They played an acoustic version of Faster on some of the RIF dates. But as far as I can remember they haven't done a full band performance of anything since the full album shows - even something less intense like This is Yesterday.

I quite like the the drum rolls in the chorus, but when I watch videos of the song live, you can nearly imagine Sean falling asleep during the verse because it's so basic.

Since (without b-sides) they're not doing 22 songs for one album any more -- only 15 now -- they really should be releasing an album every two years.
