Postcards From A Young Man - Feb Release?
Talksport seem to think so...
They have been playing an Advert for the Album, which they have changed 3 times in the last week, they first said the first single was called - End Of love, then called it - Its Not War, then they played The Descent over the voice over for SKON, the latest one i heard last night said: 'the singles, Its Not War, Some Kind of nothingness and Postcards From a Young man'. When i emailed the editor at work today as it was bugging me, i got a reply saying in Short that was what Sony Had sent them?? So Postcards released in Feb?? |

Postcards as 3rd single, eh. Surprise surprise. They should have some balls and release Balconies! Postcards is a decent song but to people who have heard all 3 songs and not the album will just think the album is full of slow or medium paced songs littered with strings....
Still, any advert advertising the album is good.

Maybe......SKON isn't even out yet, so I wonder if the band would have even chosen. It seems the obvious third choice though, given it's the one played everywhere basically.

Well the band said that the second single was either going to be SKON or the title track, so logically the title track's going to be the third single now.

Philsophy requires me to point out that there is no logic in that at all but I agree.

Single choices can't be that hard, given they are only happy enough to play what like 5 songs of the album......

I'd be amazed if we get a third single anyway.
Maybe God Save The Manics part II Regards, Marwood.

As I love the song, I'd be more than happy if PFAYM is indeed the 3rd single but agree it's rather premature considering SKON hasn't yet been released and also considering the band have dropped the song from their more recent setlists, they'll surely have to start playing it again if it's going to be a future single?!

To save space for a new thread... what would you like to see in the video for PFAYM?
If they had a huge budget, then a big song and dance routine with the Manics and some dancers dressed as postmen pouncing about in time to the music with Red Arrows flyovers etc. But if they have even less money than what they had for the second single, then how about a fixed camera shot and the band in black leotards running up to the camera with postcards in their hands which they hold up to the lens? And then moving out of shot as another member runs up to the camera with a postcard in his hand. It could be done in one take! You might have some camera adjustment for when Nicky takes a run up after filming James and Sean?* ...or we'll get another performance video. *=If they don't do this video, I'm tempted to film something like this myself. Would anyone like to be in it? |

Just a thought...
The talksport/sony radio ad definately said in the singles bit, Postcards from a young man though. |

Good to hear Postcards will be the next single if this is all to be believed!

I've had nothing from Sony confirming this and I get weekly release schedules from them! At the moment I would file this under a rumour...?!
