Did I get a deal on 'Everything' by Simon Price?
I always thought it was weird that this book was so expensive. I realize it's out of print but I constantly see it being sold for upwards of $50. Anyway, I got a copy on Amazon yesterday for $5 total! Is that a deal or what? I've never read it before, am I in for a treat? (for those of you who've read it) Also, how much do you guys usually see this book go for? Are there any plans for a new pressing of the book?

Seems like you got a good deal there and yes, it's a brilliant read.
I read it when I was a teenager and made the mistake of cutting out all the photos to stick on my wall. Regret that now! |

Well you certainly won't regret spending a fiver on it. To be honest though, if you are already pretty well up on the Manics story, I doubt you'll find it massively revelatory. Also, I found his analysis of the music pretty plodding. Don't get me wrong, as rock books go it's a quality piece of work, but I've always felt a band like the Manics deserve the treatment from Greil Marcus or someone like him...

I'd like an update now. It only goes as far as TIMTTMY doesn't it?

I prefer A Version of Reason which while evidently Richey-heavy gives a brilliant insight into the whole band and deals with events up until JFPL.
