It's a very Manics-y Manics song, never even heard the Shirley Bassey version, the quality of the demo is surprisingly good.
[I'm listening to the Shirley version right now, my vote still goes to the Manics' rendition] Last edited by Pasquerel; 22-08-2010 at 06:03. |

I suppose the Bassey one is more bearable because the song is better suited to a 73-year-old woman - as I suspect is the whole of the new Manics album, but I'm not one to go on about it.

i have to say i loved the version with shirley bassey. her voice is on top form on it. but now that i've heard the manics version. i have to say it beats the original. the song suits james' voice so well.

The Shirley Bassey version is superior.
