Desert island discs
I was just looking at the musical choices for Brian Moore on the BBC website and noted there was a function to search on who has chosen what music over the years. On entering the Manics the result was that no one has ever chosen them in the history of the program! I find that staggering yet I'm not surprised as well!
I suppose the question I must ask is what would you choose? For me it would have to be Faster. |

It's unsurprising no-one has chosen the manics. It's only really been acceptable to choose non-classical pieces for the last 15-20 years (I think the first person to do so was Paul Weller) and even now the majority of guests tend to choose classical pieces.
To answer your question though, it'd be "Yes."

my limited experience of Desert Island Discs suggests that people select music that they think they should select, or those pieces which will make them appear intellectual and all that, rather than the stuff they would actually want and enjoy.
If You Tolerate This would be my choice, assuming one can only pick one song per artist?

You can pick as many songs per artist as you want, people have definitely picked more than one Beatles song before.

lol, Manics fans.
I did exactly the same thing (searched for them) when the D.I.D. site went up too. I think it's only a matter of time before someone does pick a Manics song really, yes there's always been a slant towards classical pieces, but modern pieces (in a general sense) are regularly picked as well nowadays from what I've heard.

I would take every single copy of SATT and PFAYM with me, take a speedboat as my luxury item and then leave.
