Anyone have total sales for the album up to now?

Both Postcards and RTF have done very well for a band that are at this stage of their career thank you very much!

And... that's it out! Nowhere to be found in the Top 100.
http://www.officialcharts.com/albums-chart/ One week out of my initial 7 week prediction though. |

They never learn. AFALC is a campaign killer. No one wants it. Hindsight not needed. Enjoy your failure to make top 200 in the singles chart, Nicky.

There was an article in todays Guardian about the death of the album. Here: http://www.theguardian.com/music/201...-sales-figures
It's mostly bollox but has one or two lines of harsh truth..."You put out these albums and in almost every case, the public moves on in a matter of weeks! A few bought it, they heard it, and they're satisfied. The rest of the public is just waiting for a hit single ... they'll tap their toes and snap their fingers and ask, 'What else have you got?'" It must be pretty disheartening to put a year's work into an album for it to have a shelf life of just a few weeks (at best). The internet age moves so fast it's cut throat. The four / five single campaign to sustain and develop interest over-a-year is just not there anymore for most bands. |
