Safe European Home...?
Always wondered why James sometimes says that at the end of Enola/Alone, can anyone tell me as to why and how it came about?

All I know is it's a song by The Clash. Not sure about the relevance (if any) to Enola/Alone though.

Same here. Maybe it isn't relevant to the song, but to the environment and the situation of the concert place or whatever... Gotta see the whole context.

I always saw the two songs having related themes... Enola/Alone about a desire for escape into a new world, Safe European Home about returning home defeated by an alien culture.

Then James must be advertising the song as it was the episode 2 to their song. ^_-

Used to close You Love Us saying "There's too many closets so when will we fall!" which is a Sex Pistols lyric http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/sexpis...sinthesun.html

Because the riff at the end of the song sounds like "Safe European Home"?

because it fits basically is my view There is also a poor live version from their first glasto I think where a line from substitute "I was born with a plastic spoon in my mouth" is put into either you love us or motown junk - cant remember which one also, alone rhymes with home - kinda lol Last edited by andy; 08-01-2014 at 18:09. |

Also segued from Enola/Alone into 'Lost in the supermarket' a few times too so it's could just be a nod to the clash.
