I did feel gutted for you all especially as so many US fans had flown in from other States or travelled 4 hours plus to get to the gigs or fans at their first Manics gig after waiting many years to see the band live. 99% of the time after the UK gigs they stay around to meet fans and sign things.

I thought they might make an effort for the US fans seeing as they don't play there much but you can't expect it. James stopped to chat to the queue before one of the gigs i think. Not sure why they don't want to...maybe playing the THB songs is knackering them out more than usual?

I assumed it's probably kind of a mentally taxing tour for them, not exactly happy anniversaries, y'know? I didn't begrudge them not sticking around. It was a fantastic set and I was just happy they brought it to the U.S. Small Black Flowers was on par with This Is Yesterday in NYC in 2009, if not better. What a performance.

It's not like I'm going to burn my Manics records as I agree that nobody is promised a handshake or an autograph; however I just found it odd given the relatively small amount of people at the first 3 US shows waiting outside and the fact that they were very cordial and accessible outside after their shows on the '09 US tour.

Oh, no, I wasn't saying anything like that, I just wasn't too bothered by them taking off. It was way cold anyway.

haha no worries, I wouldn't have been all that pressed for face time but I wanted to get my damn picture sleeve signed by all 3. Honestly I do think the cold weather played into it somewhat, I joked with a Manics fan on FB who is attending the CA shows that the warmer weather there will probably have them hanging outside for a while haha

They popped outside in Chicago, I guess? Probably wasn't much warmer haha I honestly figured this would just be an exhausting tour for them. I was just happy not to have gotten sick afterwards for once. I did not contract the Bradfields.

THIS TIME.

It's not 99%. I've often been to gigs in the uk where they don't come out, or only one comes out etc. Gotta remember it's not at all guaranteed, it's a bonus if they do come out but I don't think we have a right to expect it.

Even though some people knock the concept of it, they should have considered setting up a paid pre or post-show meet and greet for the US shows, people pay an extra $25-50 to get their guaranteed moment and the tour is a little better funded.

In UK gigs when I have decided to stay behind to wait for the band they have always turned up. No we don't have a right to expect it and I did not state that. I was stating I felt sorry for the USA fans as this was probably a very rare chance for US fans to meet the band and many travelling long distances from other States to see them.
