Band introductions with Richey?
Something just came to me while I was listening to the 6 Music broadcast of the Astoria gig from 1994. At the end of the gigs when Richey was performing onstage, did James ever do any band introductions or the sign offs when he says it’s a good night from Wire, Mooro? If if they did, what did they used to say about Richey? Random question I know but just curious!

From what i remember they didn’t. Just did you love us and finished. I could well be wrong. It was a long time ago.

Its something that came about post EMG (I think). I don't remember them doing it till around 98/99.

I'm pretty sure they did it at the Nynex gig which must have been 97. Was it done during all EMG shows, or at least the headline shows? Can't remember hearing any pre-EMG bootlegs that features this.

I remember James doing it. He does it on some bootlegs as well. The only one I can think of with any detail is him mentioning Richey wearing his Fuck Me... t shirt.

It goes something like...
"A man or beast, in a world not of his making...'Fuck Me Then Leave' it says on the T-Shirt and it's right, Mr Richard Rooooocks (???)" ('Little Baby Nothing' CD Single after "RP McMurphy" Live in Japan 5/92) |

I couldn't figure out how he was saying his name either. I thought he said "Rich Ed Woods" or something like that. Seems like introducing the band at the end of the night was something James did if he could be arsed kind of thing. |
