Alternative Bag Lady

Hello all

I stumbled on this little gem again over the weekend:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ruZo1THMpmc

I remember watching it when it first appeared but hadn't seen it since. So I forgot all about the alternative version of Bag Lady (appears at about the 7 minute mark). I can't believe they never used the music here, even if for just for a different tune! Its been in my head for days now.

On this version, there seems to be some alternative lyrics used (I seem to remember the Wire saying it was originally a full page of prose?) Has anybody got any clue as to what the lyrics are on this version? Certain lines I can hear quite clearly, like "no caution destroys your insides", but some of the others escape me - I dont trust my hearing that eternity is "small pink bongos in the sky"!

I've not actually seen this before, so this is new to me, and yes that's exactly what that line sounds like!

Maybe if Nicky stood up when singing he wouldn't sound so weedy in this vocals!

I prefer this little doco over "Forever Delayed".

I prefer the original Bag Lady and the Jonathan Krisp remix but that is a wonderful version too, and would have made a nice special track for inclusion somewhere/free download.

And yep - definitely sounds like 'small pink bongos in the sky'!

Wow, can't believe it's three years since I posted this! And I'm still none the wiser haha! Does anyone have any idea what Bradders is singing for Bag Lady here? It's a lovely version, would have been interesting to hear what the full band would have done with it.

'Small pink morals' maybe? Then why are they in the sky? And pink for that matter? Then again why were small back flowers in the sky - god knows...

Ha, I remember watching this, some great behind the scenes footage there, wish they'd do more stuff like this, but this footage is very special.

I think it's maybe "small pink mongrels in the sky"? I dunno either.

I'm hearing I have read books. Eternity is not sunrise. It is small pink wombles in the sky....it is small pink wombles in the skyyyyyy...

I have read books too and I remember the wombles but I haven't come across them in the sky....not pink ones.....not even after a heavy night....so I might be wrong. This will bother me for some time now And now I've heard wombles I can't unhear it....damn

Haha 'I have found eternity, it is on Wimbledon Common'!

I thought it was small pink marbles at one point, but even that I'm not sure is right.
