Lord give me strength.
They played everything mentioned here tonight a PRYSM, except Sleepflower. And I have to hand it to Nicky, YSTS got one of the better responses in the earlier set!

I said this over on the gig thread but I am impressed they played Peeled Apples and She Is Suffering. Maybe not “deep cuts” as Nicky views them but solid songs especially Peeled Apples.

Peeled Apples would have been a single on any other album. It's one of those songs that the band can write so effortlessly. A straight rock number with a gigantic chorus. It's neither a deep cut nor a song with a tempo that slows things down to a crawl. Honestly I don't really buy the argument any more that the audience only gets excited for the staples as they seem comatose through the entire gig these days despite how much energy James emits. I'm surprised the band can tell the difference and relegate the majority of their back catalogue to never being played or one off gigs.

Yeah the general malaise of the audiences at their most recent gigs has made me realise I need to get towards the front at Shephards’’s Bush, so I can rock with the hardcores

Four pages of unpublished MSP photos circa 91 in the recent Heavenly Records zine.

Worth it for 50p + P&P just to read a nicely put together fanzine, reminds me of the good old zine days of the 90s.

Peeled Apples is a great song - even if the chorus is essentially Heaven 17’s Temptation! Ha!
