Where Will Autumnsong Chart?

So, just for fun, where do we think Autumnsong will chart? Some seem to think it's a great choice for single having got good reactions at live gigs, personally I think it'll rate as a disappointing song for many non-fans who liked (and bought) YLAINE, but I could be wrong.

I reckon the fan-base and people who miss classic Guns 'N' Roses will make it hit the top 10, and then it'll nosedive - what do you lot think?

I'm predicting top 20 in the downloads chart, and number 5 in the combined charts.

There are no prizes for guessing correctly, just a smug sense of satisfaction.

probably

probably not very highly. The initial excitement of the reslease of a new album has passed and hence, as always the second single wont get anywhere near the first one.

Also i predict a Send Away The Tigers backlash in the near future when, inevitavbly Nicky starts slagging it off as he has done with every album since TIMTTMY after initially saying how great it is.

thats the way of the world.

i like the album though

I think top 30 for downloads and then top 10 for combined. I don't think that it has enough promotion to attract the non-fanbase like YLAINE did.

Top 10 pretty certainly, already because of the fanbase - just like TLORN and Empty Souls managed to grab the #2 slots. How long it's gonna be there? Now that's the real question.

the frustrating thing is that if the record company actually promoted the single like they do for all those other "pop" bands, then it would easily get to #1, in fact if the record company had always done that, then they potentially could have had the best part of 10 #1s.

I genuinely think its good enough to get to #1, but in reality maybe somewhere between 5 and 7...

Top 30 in the download chart, then 2 or 3 in the first week because of the hardcore, then it will fall out of the chart about twice as fast as ylaine.

I hope it does better though, it's had very little promotion though and the videos are poor .

I can't even see it going top 10 with the lack of promo it's received plus two rubbish videos. I'd like to be proved wrong, but I just can't see it doing as well as YLAINE.

Of course it will, nixon and ES did, and this is coming on the back of a more successful album and single, plus festivals and a long tour!

Will the late videos actually make that much of a difference though? Its still being shown before the release, less play yes but if anyone sees and likes the song then they have less time to wait till its released and thus will appeal to impulse buyers. Plus 'Masses' got to number 1 and didn't even have a video (though that was a non album track). And as for radio play by the sounds of the "Oh My God I Just Heard the Manics on the radio" or whatever its called thread it sounds like its been getting a decent amount of radio play.

The only things i think stopping it from getting a higher chart position would the fact that people may already have the song on the album (which is why most post album singles get lower places) and ironically legal downloading. People can already buy and download the song straight off the album, so why wait for the downloadable single release? So if someone hears the song on the radio but the single isn't out then can still buy the song and thus loosing a single sale towards the chart. And thus delaying radio/tv play may help push impulse buyers towards buying the chart eligible version instead.

In my opinion the song will get somewhere in the top ten, the same as with the EMG singles. But either way the charts can't determine whether a single is actually good, only radio stations can if they are still playlisting it 5 or 10 years later.

I reckon it'll go just outside the top 40 on downloads and then possibly just get inside the top 10. 6 weeks in the top 75.
