North American JFPL - Sampleless? - Forever Delayed

Sorry if this has been asked before,

I was just listening to the North American version of JFPL and I realized that none of the spoken word samples are on the album (at the beginning of Peeled Apples, and Me and Stephen Hawking and at the end of Marlon J.D. and Doors Closing Slowly.) Anyone know why? Were the samples not cleared for North America or something?

I was going to post about this but kept forgetting--I bought the North American version of the album last month and I was surprised no one had mentioned it before. I'm guessing that's the reason why too! Now I'm out $10...

Personally, I do like the version of Doors Closing Slowly without the sample from The Virgin Suicides. I understand why they put that in there, but the actor's voice annoyed me.

(And on that note, too, if you've never read the book READ IT READ IT READ IT NOW!!!! It's an amazing book; I remember shuddering when I heard they were turning it into a movie because I didn't know how they could possibly do the book justice.)

Sorry, can't help you with this one; I only have the UK releases.

Wow, it looks like N America fans really got screwed! First there was the total shut out for Canadian fans when it came to the remixes and now the film samples are not included within the appropriate songs on the N American release. Figures!

I guess I don't mind too much since I have the UK version too - it actually kind of makes it more worthwhile knowing it's slightly different...just odd I guess - I had to restart Peeled Apples a few times to make sure something wasn't wrong with my CD player!

No idea, but I do see JFPL way more often in shops than I usually do with anything Manics-related, so anecdotally...not bad I hope!

The few times I've been in places like Best Buy or Borders this year I checked to see if there were any copies in their racks, and found a few at each location. I moved them all to the front of the racks...
