Time for a new compilation?

Is it time we had time for new compilation collection? Maybe another rareties one with bsides only available on vinyl including the solo careers. I would love to see one if we have to wait a while for a new album!!

Can't see one this year with them recording new stuff. But isn't it their "20th Anniversary" soon? Or have we gone past that?
I'd rather we had something new before something old seeing as they are still together as a band.

yeah and Peeled Apples wasn't even 'focus track' if we go into details.

too early, it's been only 8 years since FD and 7 since LT. too early, definitely.

They should've done a "best of" rather than "greatest hits" last time. It'll have to be a double cd job, surely?

Anyway, I agree that there's just not enough material. And as they don't like LB or SATT, and neither was a massive commercial success then I don't think they'd see a point to it.

SATT was quite successful. Not massive but still got them back in the media eye again!

Yeah, but what I mean is it hasn't got any songs like The Everlasting that the Manics themselves don't like, but they put on FD because it's such a big hit at gigs. If they don't like that album, then there isn't enough of a reason otherwise to want to put any of the tracks on a compilation.

as the statement from the band is that there will "never, ever be a live album" i doubt they will do an about face on it.

that said, there hasn't been a live DVD since the Cuba one, has there? us not living in the UK or the USA would have loved to go to the JFPL tour, a DVD of it would be nice.

as for a compilation album, any chance or sign of those (i think) Japanese only 2 CD versions of the albums being released anywhere else? otherwise, a massive "complete studio recordings" box set would be splendid.

There are lots of good live DVD sets in the Sound and Vision forum but unfortunately to date there isn't a video version of any of the full JFPL gigs. They really were awesome The Roundhouse stole my heart, even if some chav did steal my iPhone that night also.
