Does anyone have any news about the band or Nicky, Sean and James at the moment? Things seem to have gone very quiet and I'm getting sick of not hearing anything. I know there was some stuff from Laugharne but nothing much....

I was thinking this recently myself. Sadly all seems quiet in the Manics camp. I only really log onto the forum to see if there's any posts about manics news.

Nope, I click on the official site every day, but whoever is running it is incompetent, it wouldn't be that difficult to feed something through every two or three weeks.

God yeh I totally agree with you. It's so infuriating as there are so many things they could do to keep us up to date. Any news would be great, anything random even. Do you just think that they can't be bothered to update or just don't see it as a priority?

I have no idea. I just wonder if the band realise that keeping things ticking PR wise between albums won't detract from the excitement when something does appear. The site hasn't been updated for about seven weeks now.

They've let the new-lists-every-week idea fall by the wayside even! To be fair, I'd probably have a hard time making a list a week, but Wire always says he's making lists constantly so it wouldn't be so hard for him. XD

Just wish they were a bit more interactive and used the site to keep in touch. The list idea was good, shame it didn't last.

oh yes, some bits 'we're fine, working on the new material, preparing the tour, reading this this and that, are excited about this etc.'
kinda the same as Nicky's messages but just more often, like once a week??
other bands send some stuff more often. but who said being a Manics fan is an easy thing?

Seems like a lot of official websites end up like that, unless it's an emerging band that needs massive promotion. I almost never check them, there's always so much more in forums or webzines.
It's a pity really, because I'm sure most fans would love to rely on an official source for news and stuff.

As you guys said, even something rather irrelevant like a list or a 'hello' message would do.

I think that they are saving themselves for later... I bet that in a couple of months we will so stressed because of the future plans they have (world tours, poetry readings, interviews, new album, etc) so let's enjoy this quiet time =)

*when* there are any news, will ppl share or is it going to be like, 'ha ha, I know where they're playing etc. but I'm not gonna tell anyone'? I'm kinda new here so I just wanted to know if ppl will share news on tours or concerts so that everyone on here can see? I really hope so, cause it's harder finding news fast when you live in Sweden
