Um, don't mean to be a party pooper, but a) hasn't this been done a million times before and b) Postcards isn't even out yet so this might be a little premature for including that don't you think?

The Holy Bible. I love every moment of every track on it.

I can never pick just one album, too many good tracks on too many albums (and some shit ones too).

The Holy Bible. Why? It hardly needs to be explained. A musical peak, lyrical peak, image peak.
EDIT: I will put the others in. I will leave a big gap, as THB is so bloody far ahead in levels of greatness than the rest of them. 2. Journals For Plague Lovers (Highest Position so far, these lists do change, from time to time) 3. Everything Must Go 4. Generation Terrorists 5. Gold Against The Soul _________________________ 6. Send Away The Tigers 7. Know Your Enemy 8. Lifeblood 9. This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours Last edited by Mr.Selfdestruct; 19-08-2010 at 23:44. |

Not voting until I hear PFAYM but at the moment, I would have voted for KYE as it seems genetically designed just for me. Can't really explain it. It did take me a while to see it's overall greatness. But it is there. Suppose it grows on you!

Everything Must Go for me.
Generation Terrorists, The Holy Bible and Journal For Plague Lovers are all great albums and probably come closest for me, but Everything Must Go has a lot of the post Holy Bible despair streaming through it. It was the Manics getting back up Rocky style.

Everything Must Go. Difficult time in my life, it got me into the band, soundtrack-to-my-life type answer. I actually think I wrote out a long explanation about it when I first joined this forum but it seems to have disappeared now.

Mine used to be 'The Holy Bible' but is now 'Everything Must Go'.
Just because it's the one I have consistently listened to over the years and probably the one I will keep going back to. |

Journal for plague lovers got me into the band and I never seem to get bored of the songs on it no matter how many times they are played

I'm voting Holy Bible in an instinctive way. If I think about it more, I'll never get round to voting.

Even though it's not the '90s anymore, I think each release still gets them a few new fans, whether it's because of the right song or people being young or whatever. I even know one girl whose favourite album is KYE because that got her into them.

Oh yeah. Was thinking more with Journal having no singles, too. I know Peeled Apples got played on the radio at least once and Jackie Collins got on Match Of The Day and made it onto Shit Hole's jukebox. Nobody recommended Manics to me, I just got into em cos they were gettin played a lot. Still, Journal makes for a great introduction to Manics.
