The singles choice from PFAYM
The title track, The Descent and Some kind Of Nothingness for me...they played it at the secret gig and they are first four tracks so...
Sorry for omitting The Future Has Been Here Forever but it came to me like the most anti-single song...

I'm not being contrary or controversial but I do genuinely think TFHBH4E would make a great follow up single. Nicky's voice is like a foghorn, granted, but with Sean's little trumpet and those backing singers it's a little pop gem that makes me want to boogie!

 I don't think it should necessarily be the next single. But I do agree that it's a great pop track! One of the more catchy ones on there for me

The title track has to be the second single but I bet they'll go with bloody SKON (song's beginning to annoy me now) and Billion Balconies could be a contender also for 3rd (or even 4th single, if we're lucky).

The outro from the title track never fails to give me a good chill down my spine. That has happened to me song-wise in a long time. Granted, none of the songs are likely to ever be played here in Canada, but... I can live vicariously.

Don't get me wrong, I like SKON as an album track, but as a single I think it would be rubbish. It took me about 10 listens to work out which bit was the chorus, how is the casual radio listener supposed to figure it out?
(Like I say, I'm not knocking it, I think it's a great album track etc...)

I'd assume it'll be SKON, Descent and PFAYM on the basis that they were played at the secret gig - but I hope not, the last two are average, by-the-numbers Manics tracks.

I think Hazelton Avenue has been *produced* to sound like a single, it's the most commercial thing on the album along with the current single. Whether or not they choose it to be a single is another story (perhaps the comeback North American single???).

I think the most 'mass appeal' tracks would be the title track and 'All We Make is Entertainment'. If there was a fourth single they could go for something a little less commercial and pick 'Billion Balconies' or 'Some Kind of Nothingness'

All the choices I made were based on titles alone. Still haven't heard them yet, and am looking forward to eating my words!
I chose the title track only because EMG's title track was a single.

PFAYM - Feb "circa The Brits in hope of a best band / album nom" & 2nd wind of sales". 4th single very unlikely.
