Is there any chance of more re-issues and deluxe editions?
I was just thinking that it's another two years till Generation Terrorist's 20th Anniversary and I assume the Manics will do something for it but there's no need to wait for anniversary to re-release albums in deluxe packages. Many albums of other bands get re-released even some complete catalogues at once and they add in a second disc and new artwork etc.
God knows how long we'll have to wait for a This is my Truth deluxe edition with the original Tsunami mix. It'd be nice even if they released some more sets like the Journal/Postcards ones but say for Gold Against the Soul, Know Your Enemy or Lifeblood. I'm sure there's oodles of demos and other extras lying around for them albums. |

it would be nice - we were all expecting, and didn't get, a TIMTTMY 10th anniversary. i think either the sales of THB and/or EMG 10th anniversary didn't do as well as they had hoped saleswise, or it's just the case that they felt the significance of those two warranted it.
i was taken by surprise by the EMG one - i thought that THB mainly came out just to get the Canadian version "out there" in a way that Sony could get some of the income from it, going on the borderline insane prices the original issue gets. i think making the "Japan only" re-issues, the ones that feature the album & the disc of b-sides and what have you, available to those few Manics fans who don't happen to live in Kobe or Tokyo, would be a good starting point.

I think the Japanese reissues were put out purely by Sony Japan, Sony UK or as a whole had little to do with it.
I don't know about sales stopping further releases, reissues like these are usually done in limited numbers and only really aimed at fans or collectors. I think its more a fact that the band just don't feel that the others albums should have reissues just yet. I would love to see the special edition treatment for all the albums, but don't really see the need to wait for 10th, 15th or whatever anniversary's. |

But that's a bit like saying

If they're serious about their 70 Songs... album, or even if it ends up as a regular double album of around 24 tracks, I doubt we'll be seeing it for another three years, so I expect a load of reissues between now and then to keep business turning over. I bought the shoebox, many of us bought the shoebox, we opened the floodgates...
A new compilation is needed, really. Not so they can add YLAINE and not much else, but because those edits of radio edits really do need to be banished from our minds forever... The KYE repackaging sounds interesting in theory, but as far as I'm aware it would only be the album with b-sides added, and it's not as though anyone's problem with that album was ever down to it being too short. |

Save up for box sets of singles and albums for the 20th anniversary (if the pricing of the Momentos box is anything to go by)

NOTE to MSP:
Release a Generation Terrorist's 20th Anniversary edition. Include a second cd that is remixed and remastered and have Sean actually play drums on the fucker so it doesn't sound like shit. That is all. END of NOTE.

There's most likely to be a KYE one, as I've said before. I just can't see them wanting to put out a 20th edition of GT like everyone seems to be speculating on though.

I also don't see why they wouldn't do it. After all some of the tracks remain live staples and they've been itching to throw a little of the sound of their youthful naivety into their more recent output so they obviously have a fondness for elements of that style. That ![]() I agree with RobynLove too about what it should entail. Remix, Remaster, Real Drums. Simple really. Anything above and beyond that would be a bonus. |

GT is screaming out for a remaster - doesn't even have to have a bonus disc, just the original album only...listenable.
