Pointless thing I noticed on It's all gone
I recently listend to my manics B-side collection. After hearing it's all gone I noticed at the 3 mintue 24 mark, just after the solo before it goes back into the main riff, you can hear James say something like "ahh fuck" or "I fucked that up". Anyone else noticed this? I love the little insight it gives you into the recording process!
Anyother voices in the background for manics songs? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klpsae9NDwM it's at about 3:26 - 3:27 on this. |

I hadn't noticed it before but, yes, it's quite clear.
Either that or a bump for the Underdogs thread. |

I swear James shouts 'Off' about eleven seconds in to Your Love Alone, just after 'Oh when times get tough'. It's easiest to hear on his solo version.

I'm Leaving You For Solitude, James does a whine during the latter guitar solo.
New Art Riot, James Comes in a touch too early at about 1 min 19 secs. No Surface, the beginning when it goes into the drums sounds really badly produced. There is the already the one we know about in Doors Closing Slowly, James coughing. |

JFPL is littered with places where they "stitched" takes together on the reel to reel.

Well, it's on EMG so that's a given.

Don't forget that the majority of NSAF was taken from the demo.

There's a cough in Peeled Apples as well, but I actually prefer things like this - overly produced albums are a chore. JFPL was more likely than not to have these sorts of 'mistakes' in them.

KYE was the album where Nicky started putting his voice out there, and there's loads of mumbling going on that is probably intentional but never really explained - like before the chorus of Let Robeson Sing. Ever since, Nicky likes to mumble on things.
On a similar subject, I've yet to pinpoint where the pool ball hits the frying pan in Nostalgic Pushead, so I can't say whether the song would lose anything if it was removed. |

It's glaringly obvious, it was triggered by the snare. You can hear it from 0:20 throughout the rest of the song.

Yes indeed! 2:49 - 2:50 you hear James "ahem"
![]() I started a whole thread about that one at the time.

I guess if I don't actually know what it sounds like then I'm not going to differentiate it from other percussion. Have to get hold of a pool ball then - my local pub will be annoyed.
