2003 Motorcycle Emptiness
Heard it on YouTube and loved it - but how was it released? Was it just on download? Wasn't the FD ME the original with different B-Sides?

I must have missed this. Didn't know there was a release of ME in 2003!

Yeah, the FD remix, only available on a german promo or summat?
It's dead good.

It's an abomination, utter ProtoSATT filth. They themselves (or the record company) realised it was a mistake and quickly swept it under the carpet like they should have done with TITD.
It probably was intended for that European/Japanese re-release, maybe even FD, before they did the right thing and killed it. |

IIRC it was either 1) packed with some country-specific ME single re-release or 2) intended to be packed with such but it never got past the rare promo stage.
If it was the full song with new James vocals, it'd be infinitely better to the original. The production is fantastic, the middle eight is more gorgeus than ever and the intro (which they began to include in the live versions) is a great addition. Just a shame they only tweaked a crippled version of the song rather than the whole deal.

It had potential. It sounded gorgeous, but as Flint said, it was a wasted opportunity.

Wasn't this on an EP with FD and TBTGOG? Or was that a dream?

ProtoSATT!!
I'm inclined to think a six-minute version would have been better, but then that's like asking for a six-minute version of Autumnsong. |

Don't recall that at all. But then I wasn't on the internet at that time!
