Manic Millenium vs A Night Of National Treasures
A bit pointless this, but it kills time - and we have a lot to kill for the next two years.
Both were 'the' landmark gigs in the Manics history. Which was best? There's only one way to find out...

I was lucky to make both gigs but a lot of the younger Manics fans who are now in University were young kids when the Millenium gig took place I will treasure both dates.

I think just the fact that A Night of NT wasn't filmed will mean it will go down in history. You can *sort* of recreate Manic Millennium, but you can't do that with NT.

Also: I voted NT, but I wasn't at MM.

MM had Axl Rose James dance, so that.

went to neither, but MM was something that, in theory, the band had absolutely no business being able to pull off but boy did they.
if NT was them bowing out for good it would have edged it, but then again you'd say they probably would have had an entirely different setlist.

Lucky to have been to both, both magnificent occasions for different reasons. But the venue, build up, anticipation, intro music, explosion of energy when they came on stage was all better at the Manic Millennium. And they played Of Walking Abortion which ripped through the stadium like a brutal mother-fucker.

Went to neither so not sure really. The MM set was pretty disappointing when you consider that at the time they had only released 5 albums, and played just two(if memory serves) tracks from THB.
It did seem like a great night and the whole live on the bbc was pretty cool. Not sure how the NT show would have gone down with me. As cool as it would have been to hear the likes of Revol, LSE, TLORN, TBTGOG and FTS, mixed in with all the shite singles, it weighs up as being standard enough. |

It would have to be some gig to beat NT.
I can't see how a fat Jimbo with only Naysmyth for back up (as well as what is a crap guitar sound on the DVD at least) can beat NT - a complete triumph. |

Taking everything into account, If i had gone to both, I probably would have preferred the NT show. However, Nina would have made me hurl. |

National Treasures, and not just because it just happened and I was there.
Manic Millenium was big, but from the DVD and reactions at the time it didn't exceed expectations. From the feedback from National Treasures pretty much everyone seems happy. And National Treasures had REVOL.

I wasn't at the Millenium gig but it's all I thought about that night wishing I was there. I loved wtaching the VHS and DVD, still do, a lot. Probably watch it this new years eve again, it's a ritual of mine So as I was at the O2 gig and it was bloody amazing, I'll say that.
