I was not impressed with the title track and SMTW did nothing for me on release. As an old fan I've always considered their music to be my life's soundtrack, it has been since I first heard James's guitar screaming down my speakers in 92, so wasn't looking forward to RTF at all. I take it back, all is forgiven. It's beautiful. Up there in their top three for me now. (after GATS and THB if anyone cares). I am completely in love with this record. I mentioned that they have provided the soundtrack to my life and this fits. They aren't the same angry 20-somethings who did Faster in balaclavas and combats on TOTP, but then I'm not the same angry 20-something who saw it and thought "Fuck yeah!". It's saturated with resigned melancholia, bittersweet reminiscence and sad, epic beauty, hell it's even made me warm to SMTW and I thought that was appalling on first listen. It's your choice whether you give it a go, but you are genuinely missing out. It's not standard-issue MSP, it's a thing of beauty.
