Is this a THB gig?

I doubt it. They're playing a Japanese festival and it was announced as 'Manic Street Preachers play The Holy Bible' so they'd probably do the same here if it was.

Probably won't bother so, unless the line-up grows very much to my liking over the next few months. I'm not done with festivals, but I've certainly had enough of the electric picnic.

No sticky? Takk is slacking! Anyone going to this next week? This'll be the first Electric Picnic I've missed since '07 which is incidentally the last time the Manics played. The jerks!
But yeah, like Mr Selfdestruct said, no real interest in heading back to EP unless it's for a special occasion. Edit - Oh, and I think they're playing on Sunday 6th btw. |

I'd have been up for it. But I figured having bought a house this summer, and already having headed to Cardiff in June, I could not really justify the expense associated.
So if I win the VIP tickets on TXFM breakfast I'll be there - so yeah, that will definitely happen!

Ah, I would have gone if my mates were going as well. But I don't know a single person going this year and I've already been to Body and Soul, so that's my festive fun for the summer!

I'm flying over from the U.S. for this - first and foremost for the Manics, but the good amount of other acts I'm interested in on the bill made me pull the trigger.

Wow, fair play. We always seem to bump into people who've flown over from America or Europe for the festival! Hope you enjoy it, the Body and Soul area is gorgeous at night. Daytime too for that matter! The Trailer Park area is cool too and worth a look see. Oh, and if there's a gramaphone disco on be sure and pay it a visit! It's always great craic and if you're lucky they might keep it going after hours. Unless you want some sleep of course

As I sit here wrapped in a shawl, with a cup of coffee to keep my hands warm, and goosebumps / numb feet, I realise that I am so very, very, happy I did not give in to my desire earlier this summer to get EP tickets.
It was 8 degrees going into work this morning. Can you imagine camping for this 'summer festival' Sorry MSP - Your presence alone is not enough!

I was going to ask if there was any setlists or pictures but then I noticed it's running over three days. So... My mistake.

RTE are showing live coverage on TV over the weekend, so the manics might be on tomorrow night.
I didn't realise they are now squeezing 50,000 people in there. It was about 20,000 less the last time i was there. Wouldn't fancy it. |
