What's next?

So after The Holy Bible stuff and summer festivals, what do you think will be next? Will they ever actually do a Futurology tour?

Probably start writing the next album. Might start recording it this year.
Could be next year.
Not expecting anything new until 2017.
That's my guesswork!

Personally, I think they've missed the boat for a Futurology tour.

And I think they might have a little bit of a break, too. So I agree with Son of Stopped, three/four years max til' we get a new album.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope they go back to the fundamentals of the 'manics manifesto' a tiny bit ( ) and make an aged GT with the same types of themes.
A little bit of US and capitalism bashing here and there, a lot more political lyrics (Masses style), a pinch of angst etc etc. I don't mean they should be prancing around in leopard print singing about crucifix kisses and being methadone pretty again, but do you get what I mean?
Ugh I don't know if I can accept them getting old
And hopefully, probably jinxed it by making this post, but hopefully now "No Manifesto" is done and dusted and released, hopefully we might get a live DVD to tide us over.
oh oh oh, some bits of Roundhouse were filmed, it would be so nice to get THB LIVE on a cd or dvd!
I suspect the tour this time last year was originally scheduled to be the Futurology tour expecting the album to have been finished by then but for whatever reason it wasn't ready till after. Similarly I was surprised by the announcement of these summer Holy Bible dates coming on the opening night in Glasgow. I can totally understand why they may have been reluctant to revisit that era.. I don't know when they decided that they were definitely gonna do it but it must've been pretty short notice otherwise I'm sure we'll have had a Cardiff date last year. What surprised me about the announcement was it coming before the tour had actually started though! I mean, yeah they must've been hesitant otherwise the last one would've been announced months rather than weeks before it happened. I mean, the last tour could've been a disaster, they could've found it too uncomfortable but I'm fucking glad they did it and they're doing it again.
As for Futurology itself, they've performed 2/3 of the album live which compared to Rewind The Film, Postcards From A Young Man, Lifeblood and even Gold Against The Soul is pretty standard... Would love em to do Next Jet, Black Square and Misguided Missile but not sure how keen they'll be. Heh, when you're on 12 albums you're gonna have to leave summat out.
Future plans, again I'm quite surprised that they're lining up festival appearances. They've been bloody busy last couple of years considering, I know there's this Patagonia trek which will be fucking amazing, probably give em summat else to write about too. I'm sure Nicky said he was working on two books before Death Of A Polaroid came out, not sure if the other one's still happening. I'm half expecting an Everything Must Go 20 tour...
It should be a book entirely made up of pictures of Nicky skipping in skirts. I'd buy.
& yeah. It seems a coincidence they'd tell us they've played it in full a year before the 20th anniversary. Eeeek!!!
I think I'd wait for that one to hit the bargain bins before I bought it...
Yeah, would presume Everything Must Go 20 would be an easier choice for them to make, no holocaust, war, death penalty or dictators on there and they could probably do with the light relief. Ah, I want a This Is My Truth 20...
I hope they'll do the film soundtrack they said they might do, especially if it gets a proper separate release as an album.
Although I love EMG, they better not repeat any of the shit clothing choices...
As much as I love the boys, they did look horrific.
I think Judge Yrself could still be used for a film. Would love to see that as a soundtrack.
James was talking about writing new songs recently somewhere.. or rather being too scared to.. wanting to make sure the direction is right... implies a new album of some sort eventually, but maybe not another Lifeblood
Considering they wrote and recorded RTF and Futurology at the same time, that will mean it was recorded in early 2013, so that's two years ago now (where does time go?!?), so surely they have lyrics, riffs, tunes, ideas, whatever all ready to get recorded for a new album? I honestly think they'll start to get demos together later this year and have a new album out in early 2016, this is my hope
Nicky did sign up for two books, his Death Of A Polaroid was lame though, such a waste of what could have been a decent book. I think he said he was writing a biography but was struggling. Doubt we'll ever see anything like that but we can hope.
No Manifesto is here with us now so I'll watch this now and then as the footage is amazing but having a new live DVD / Blu Ray of a gig would be brilliant. I still wish they filmed the O2 gig in 2011 instead of just releasing a few tracks on RTF and wherever else.
