Maybe the Thinking was the Critical we met on the way?
(Followed Dancing Kirby's breadcrumbs to Tattlelife seems a few FD there. Even I'm doing The Gutless Wonder's schtick these days) |

The little riff gives me hints of Dylan & Caitlin but I could be miles off

Closest they've got to Velvet Underground? If not pre-Synchronity Police?
Edit: going from sample |

Mitch Ikeda on Manics Instagram posted a picture of Nicky sat down in front of giant chess pieces.

Big fan of the chorus - The sea of tranquility line is a messy fit though.

'Door to the river' with a hint of 'Emily' I think but maybe that's just my bad ears. |

Yes, the Sea of Tranquility on the moon, so he could mean the American flag?

I'm looking forward to the vinyl album, though the booklet of Nicky's lyrics are only with the cds?

Epicenter goes to the Beach House! Yet still sounds icy with Futurology still synth washes in the chorus. Not as fast and insistent as Decline&Fall. Not as many contrasts as HIPS.
But it's in the head there. Even singles from last few albums don't sound as casual as PRP. I thought it might go Dire Straits. But it's still those Manics Street Preachers. |
